Depois de já ter sido emprestado noutras épocas, o clube quis mantê-lo na equipa B, o que adivinha que não tardará muito a chegar à equipa principal. Tem qualidade para isso! Uma das suas principais características não faz parte do reportório da maioria dos laterais, que é a óptima aptidão para bater as bolas paradas (seja cantos ou livres); neste contexto, temos ainda os cruzamentos, também eles muito precisos e bastante abonatórios para o sucesso de quem finaliza. Podemos considerá-lo um lateral bastante completo. Apresenta enorme propensão ofensiva, com bom drible e velocidade, mas também cumpre eficazmente a função quando se trata de defender. Em termos físicos, é muito bom pois é veloz e ágil apresentando uma boa robustez e estatura. Quanto a nós, Rafa já deu provas suficientes que será um jogador importante na equipa do Porto, no futuro. Para além disto, durante esta época, deixou a sensação que poderia ter sido utilizado mais jogos na equipa principal.
