Can act on both flanks or in the center, however prefers to play on the right in order to be able to do interior movements and shoot at goal since he has a fabulous shot. Acted on his debut at left side and showed up for his dribbling ability and progression on the field. He's a lefty and as combined well with his teammates, demonstrating initiative and willingness to assume the game. He has good technique, has some room for improvement in tactical terms and decision making but taking into account the skills evidenced he can become a good level player.

Pode actuar em ambos os flancos ou mesmo na zona central, no entanto prefere jogar à direita para poder fazer movimentos interiores e rematar à baliza uma vez que possui um remate forte e colocado. Na sua estreia actuou pelo lado esquerdo e evidenciou-se pela sua capacidade de drible e progressão no terreno de jogo. É esquerdino e combinou muito bem com os colegas, demonstrando iniciativa e vontade de assumir o jogo. Possui boa técnica, tem alguns aspectos a melhorar em termos tácticos e de tomada de decisão  mas tendo em conta as habilidades evidenciadas poderá tornar-se um jogador de bom nível.

Quite strong in marking and in his fellow coverings, rarely complicates preferring to take the ball out of danger zones. Feels quite comfortable, revealing security in the first phase of construction and has a good long pass. In offensive freeckics situations is a player to take into account because of his height and ability to attack the ball. It has all the features to reach the highest level and the option for Italy seems to be the right one. Have space to evolve and learn from the best of his position and now teammates as Bonera, Mexes and Zapata.

Descrição: Jherson Vergara foi um dos destaques do último mundial sub-20. Este defesa central é fisicamente imponente, forte no jogo aéreo e com excelente sentido posicional. Bastante forte na marcação e a dar cobertura aos companheiros do sector, raramente complica preferindo tirar a bola de zonas de perigo. Sente-se bastante confortável, revelando segurança na primeira fase de construção e possui um bom passe longo. Nas situações de bola parada ofensiva é um jogador a ter em conta pela sua altura e capacidade de atacar a bola. Tem  todas as características para chegar ao mais alto nível e a opção por Itália parece-nos a mais acertada. Terá espaço para evoluir e aprender com os melhores da sua posição e agora colegas de equipa como o caso de Bonera, Zapata e Mexés.
